Dec. 7-Dec. 11

We are finishing up the last two weeks of the quarter and continuing to work hard in our learning. It is hard to believe that we are almost half way through the school year.  We hope everyone has a great week!

Please make sure to read the Echo and any emails from the school for important information.    

GENERAL ACADEMICS:
Spalding - Students will learn 8 new words on Monday and Tuesday, 9 new words on Wednesday and review the 25 words on Thursday.  Phonogram test will be on Thursday, December 10th.  The spelling test will be on Friday, December 11th.
Math - We will finish up the unit on Comparing Numbers today (Monday.)  The rest of this week will be a review of all the concepts taught during the first semester with an emphasis on adding and subtracting numbers to 20 and story problems. Tonight (Monday) students will have two math workbook pages for homework.  The rest of the week students will be bringing home review worksheets for math homework. 
History - Aztec, Inca, and the arrival of Europeans
Literature - Frog and Toad all Year
Grammar - Proper Nouns with the focus on the Calendar 
Poetry - "Merry Sunshine"
*Note - Poetry recitations are this week!
(Distance learners - I will have you recite your poems during our live Zoom on Thursday and Friday.)
