March 25th-March 9th

Hello!  There are full and busy weeks ahead of us!

FIELD DAY:
Field Day is this Friday, March 29th.  You can find general information about field day in the Athenian Echo that is sent out weekly.  Below is some additional information based on past experiences:
1. Please make sure to apply sunscreen on your child before sending them to school.
2. Be sure to follow the dress code guidelines outlined in the Athenian Echo.

3. Every child needs a clearly labeled water bottle.
4. Some of the events include water play so your scholar will probably get wet.  The lower grades have their field day events in the morning.  Please send a plastic bag and a change of clothes in your scholar's back pack so that he/she can change out the wet clothes upon returning to the classroom.
5. Be sure to also send a pair of dry socks and shoes as well.
6. The academic day will continue in the afternoon.
7. Kona Ice will be present during the field day.  Each grade level has been assigned a specific time frame when they can purchase a snow cone.  Prices are listed in the Athenian Echo.  If your child would like to purchase  a snow cone please place the money in a plastic zip lock bag and write your child's name on the bag.  Students will be responsible for  their  own money.

WILDLIFE WORLD ZOO:
We have gotten approval for the first grade field trip to the Wildlife World Zoo.  The field trip will take place on Tuesday April 4th. A letter and permission slip is going home in the red homework folders tomorrow, Tuesday, March 26th.  The permission slip and money is due this Friday, March 29th.  Please contact me through Jupiter if you are interested in volunteering to chaperone for the field trip by Thursday morning, March 28th.  Please note - We are only allowed to take 6 chaperones.  If more than 6 people are interested, names will be randomly drawn.  Volunteers who were not able to attend the field trip last fall will have priority over those who have already volunteered for a field trip.  You must have a fingerprint clearance registered at the front office to volunteer for any school event.

ACADEMICS:
