March 18th-22nd

Welcome back!

ACADEMICS:
Spalding: Students will learn 10 new words on Monday, 9 new words on Tuesday, and 10 words on Wednesday.  The review is on Thursday and the test is on Friday.
Math: This week the students will be working on Time - telling time to the hour and half hour.  A "friendly notes" page  went home in the homework folder today.  The review will be on Wednesday and the test will be on Thursday.  On Friday we will begin the unit on "Numbers to 120."  This is a very extensive unit that will last for several weeks.
History: The 13 colonies
Literature: Sam the Minuteman
Poetry: "Washington" by Nancy Byrd Turner
Poetry recitations begin on April 1st.  When working on the poem, my suggestion would be to break it up into stanzas.  Focus on the first stanza for a couple of days then add the next stanza and so on.
