Here is an overview of the concepts covered this week and upcoming events.
Historical Figure and Literary Character Day:
Please remember, Friday the 17th is our dress up day. I sent out the guidelines and suggested characters out last week. We encourage all to participate.
MATH:
There is a lot of information for math this week.
1. The Chapter 6 - Addition and Subtraction within 20 chapter test is this Thursday. As with every math unit we will spend the Wednesday math block reviewing. These reviews always include test taking skills such as looking at the problem, decided what needs to be done to solve it, then solving the problem. The review will be sent home on Wednesday. It will not be graded or checked for accuracy. Feel free to go over it with your child if you choose.
2. This math unit was large and full of new information so there will be a larger amount of math homework than usual on Wednesday night. Therefore, Wednesday night homework with have a math and spelling word focus only.
3. We will begin our geometry unit on Friday.
LITERATURE:
We just finished Frog and Toad are Friends. This week we will begin reading Frog and Toad Together.
