BOOK FAIR:
The school book fair is taking place today through Wednesday. Today the scholars were allowed to wander around and look at the books. They made a list of books that interested them the most. This list is in the students red homework folders. After returning to our classroom I told the scholars that they should be very proud of themselves. They spent a lot of time really looking at the books. They were polite to each other. If students found books that they thought their classmates would like they shared .
If you were unable to make it to Monday's parent night you may send money to school. Students will be allowed to visit and purchase books from the fair on Tuesday and Wednesday morning. If you choose to send money to school with your child, please put it in a zip-lock baggie, write your child's name on the baggie, and tape it inside the red homework folders.
HALLOWEEN:
This is just a reminder that the Great Hearts school system does not celebrate Halloween. Please do not send treats to pass out on that day.
PICTURES:
School pictures have arrived. If you ordered pictures, the picture envelope is in the red homework folders. If you did not order pictures, an online code card has been placed inside your child's homework folder. The pictures turned out SO CUTE!!!
ACADEMICS:
Math - We are working on addition and subtraction of numbers to 20 this week. Last week the students took a short number sense quiz that focused on ordering numbers, number patterns, and making ten. This quiz will be in Tuesday's red homework folders.
This is just a reminder for students to continue practicing their math facts on Xtramath. Knowing these math facts is helping students with addition through 20.
