PROJECT WEEK:
The students worked very hard in class on their project night essays. Thank you for making sure the project week homework was completed as well. It helped each student complete what was needed each day.
PROJECT NIGHT:
Information about project night was sent home with the project week letter last week. Please be sure to read over it carefully. Below are a few reminders as well as thoughts based on my own experiences from the previous three years.
- Students need to be in their classrooms at 5:45. Parents will be able to visit the classrooms from 6 - 7 pm. Please take parking into consideration so that students will arrive on time.
- Be sure to visit all three first grade classrooms as each classroom focused on different characters.
- This is an open house event. Please be sure to visit all classrooms and all grade levels.
- The first grade classrooms will be very full and very busy. If you wish to visit with friends and other parents please do so outside of the classroom.
- I will be keeping a very active attention on the students so I will not be able to visit for extended periods of time. If you are interested in speaking with me about how your child is doing in school please contact me through Jupiter to schedule a conference.
- When picking up your child at the end of the night, please be sure to let me know so that I can check him/her and know who he/she is leaving with.
ACADEMICS:
Spalding- Scholars will be learning ten new words on Monday, 8 words on Tuesday, and review will be on Thursday. The 18 - word test will be on Friday. There is not homework on project night.
Math - We started the "Numbers to 40" unit today. This is a very extensive unit but it does build on the "Numbers to 20" unit taught during the 2nd quarter. The "Friendly notes pages that were sent home during that unit will be beneficial for this unit as well.
