Week 11 10/22-10/26

We are in full swing and have had a great start to our second quarter. Thank you to all who attended conferences. It was truly a purposeful time building relationships with each of you and collaborating together to support the learning and growth of each of your scholars.

Every quarter brings new content and new understanding. We continue to press forward on our journey of learning. Excitement is in the air for what lies ahead.  I look forward to the coming months as I get the privilege to watch closely and lead the ship into new territories. Thank you for entrusting me with your precious gold.  I will certainly do my best to steward their journey.

FIELD TRIP FAQ:
​When is the field trip?
The field trip is this Thursday, October 25th.
 
Does my child have to wear his/her school uniform?
Yes. Your child will need to wear the school uniform. 
 
What does my child need to bring to school on that day?
Your child will need to bring the following items to school:

• Backpack, agenda, homework folder, and any other school items that your child needs for a regular school day. (Our academic day will continue when we return to school after the field trip.)
• A healthy snack to eat in the morning before we leave for our trip
• A cold lunch
• A disposable water bottle (clearly labeled)

How long is the field trip?
We will leave at approximately 8:30 and return at approximately 12:30.
 
Our academic day will continue after we arrive back to school and eat lunch. Please contact me if you have any questions.

PICTURE RETAKES:
Picture retakes are this Friday, Oct. 26th.  If you are planning to have your child get their picture retaken, please e-mail me through Jupiter and let me know.  The front office would like an estimate of the number of students who are getting retakes.

​ACADEMICS:
Spalding - There will be ten new words each day, a review on Thursday.  The spelling test is on Friday.
Math - We are working on addition and subtraction through 20.  
Grammar - Nouns
Literature - Frog and Toad
​History - Ancient Egypt

October 29-31 -Book Fair (Parent's Shopping Night on Oct. 29)

Half Day Dismissal: 12 PM
No Lunch served on half days.
Friday, November 9 -Literary/Historical Figure Day
Monday, November 12 -No School: Veteran's Day Observed
